Who is alphabetical.com.au
I started alphabetical.com.au because I have a passion for quality children's books and I love reading them to my children. I grew up with books as a child and I believe that when you read a “good” book to a child it opens up a wonderful world to them. Reading a book with a child offers a magical moment for sharing the special world of pictures and words. Reading together promotes language skills, visual literacy, tolerance and understanding, as well as a closeness between adult and child that is to be treasured.
There is a lot of research supporting the encouragement of early reading habits in children, which is a great start for reading at school.
Having worked for 10 years in children's book publishing in Australia, with some of the best publishers of children's books from around the world, I've learned what I think makes a quality children's book. This is why each book at alphabetical.com.au is handpicked, personally selected and read to children before it reaches you. You can be assured of the care and thought that goes into each selection. I know it can be overwhelming going into a bookshop and not knowing where to start, with often no guidance available. I hope to make it easier for you to select the best books for your child/children.
